For the past 10 years, one dedicated volunteer and their therapy dog have walked hospital halls, hospice rooms, and care centers—bringing peace, comfort, and connection where it’s needed most.

“It’s incredible what these dogs do for patients’ mental health,” the volunteer shared. “They lift spirits, ease anxiety, and sometimes offer the only moment of calm someone has felt all day.”

Therapy dogs don’t ask for anything in return. Their presence is soft, grounding, and pure. Just a paw on the hand, a warm gaze, or a quiet nuzzle can ease pain in ways words never could.

But their healing isn’t just in life—it’s in goodbye, too.

“Letting a dog be there when their person passes is so important,” they added. “Dogs need to know they weren’t abandoned. They deserve that closure.”

This reflection speaks volumes. Whether through wagging tails or quiet final moments, these dogs give their hearts fully—and ask only to be part of the journey, from beginning to end.
