A Silent Battle, A Loyal Heart

A Silent Battle, A Loyal Heart
Today, my best friend is fighting a battle he cannot explain. There are no words he can use to tell me what hurts, no way for him to ask for comfort—yet his eyes speak volumes.
He’s quiet. Slower than usual. The spark in his step is dimmed, but not gone. He still lifts his head when I walk into the room. He still tries to wag his tail, even if just a little. And in those small moments, I see his strength.
You see, he’s not just a dog. He’s my shadow, my confidant, my source of comfort on days I couldn’t find any. He’s been there for every tear, every laugh, every long night. And now, he needs me to be there for him.
So today, I ask for a small favor. If you’re reading this, please pause—just for a moment—and send a healing thought, a silent prayer, or a wave of love his way. He may not understand our language, but I believe he understands love.
I believe he feels it—in the gentle hands, the soft words, and the hearts that beat for him.
Because sometimes, the best way we can fight battles we don’t understand… is with love.
