Motherhood Without Borders: Cat Adopts Orphaned Opossum as One of Her Own

In a quiet suburban neighborhood, something remarkable unfolded on one family’s back patio — a story of love, instinct, and unexpected family.

It began when the neighbor’s black cat gave birth to a healthy litter of kittens. As the new mother cared for her tiny furballs, something entirely unexpected happened. One morning, nestled among the mewing kittens was a newcomer: a baby opossum.
