Goodbye, Pretinho: A Gentle Soul, Forever in Our Hearts

Goodbye, Pretinho: A Gentle Soul, Forever in Our Hearts
Today, with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to someone who meant the world to us — Pretinho
More than just a pet, Pretinho was family. He was a companion, a quiet presence, a source of comfort on the darkest days. He didn’t speak our language, but he understood everything. And with just a glance, a wag of the tail, or a gentle nuzzle, he told us he loved us — every single day.

Pretinho was diagnosed with cancer. It was a fight none of us were ready for, but he faced it with strength we couldn’t have imagined. He endured three surgeries, each time bouncing back, trying his best to stay with us a little longer. He never gave up. Not once.
But sometimes, life doesn’t play fair. The tumors came back — this time more aggressive, more cruel, more relentless. We tried to stay hopeful. We held on. We prayed. We cried. We told him over and over how loved he was.
And even in pain, Pretinho never stopped loving us back.
He didn’t ask for much — just to be near us, to feel safe, to rest his head beside us at night. But he gave us everything: loyalty, trust, joy, and a kind of love that never demands anything in return.
Today, Pretinho rests. No more pain. No more fear. Just peace.
We believe God always knows the right time. Maybe we wish we had more of it — just one more day, one more walk, one more cuddle. But perhaps Pretinho already gave us everything he could. Perhaps he stayed as long as his heart allowed.
We’re so sorry, Pretinho.
Sorry if we couldn’t save you.
Sorry if love wasn’t enough to keep you here longer.
But please know…
You were more than enough.
You were loved beyond measure.
You leave behind memories that will never fade — the quiet mornings, the playful evenings, the warmth of your presence in every corner of our home. And though you are gone, your spirit lives on in every act of kindness, in every quiet moment of gratitude, in every part of our hearts that will never forget you.
Go in peace, our brave boy.
Run free in heaven. No more pain. No more surgeries. Just sunshine, open fields, and endless peace.
We love you, Pretinho. Always.
