The Sweetest Soul in Dallas: Bobby’s Second Chance

The Sweetest Soul in Dallas: Bobby’s Second Chance
Meet Bobby—my incredible foster pup and living proof that love can still grow from the most broken beginnings.
I found Bobby on a euthanasia list, set to be put down simply because no one stepped up in time. He’d been surrendered after a snake bite on his paw… or so I was told. But as we got to know each other, the truth emerged—and it broke my heart. Bobby hadn’t just been bitten. He’d been shot. Multiple times. With a BB gun. By the very people who were supposed to love and protect him.
The pain in his front legs isn’t from venom—it’s from trauma and neglect. He sits on his bottom like a little kangaroo, not by choice, but because moving normally hurts. And yet, somehow, Bobby greets every single day—and every single person—with nothing but softness. No bitterness. No fear. Just hope.
This photo? It’s from our very first ride home. You can see it in his eyes: cautious, curious, and already trusting me more than I deserved in that moment. That’s the thing about dogs like Bobby. Despite everything, they still believe in love. They still try.
And in just a short time, Bobby has become so much more than a foster. He’s become my shadow, my snuggle buddy, my joy in the quiet moments. I look at that squishy little face, and I can’t help but think: This might be the love of my life.
What was once a discarded life is now a cherished one. Bobby is safe. Bobby is healing. And Bobby is so, so loved.
So to anyone who ever doubts the power of rescue, remember this face. Remember Bobby. The cutest pup in Dallas—with the strongest heart.
