As I strolled past the usual excited barking and hopeful meows, two quiet figures caught my eye: an Italian Greyhound with long, elegant legs and a curious, slightly awkward grin, and beside him, a fluffy rabbit with gentle eyes and oversized floppy ears. They weren’t the typical shelter favorites. Other visitors passed them by, perhaps searching for something more conventional. But to me, they stood out instantly.

There was something in their stillness, a quiet understanding between them, as if they had formed an unlikely bond in a place full of uncertainty.
